Hullo! Going bacK to fashion, i've decided to take a break from fashion clothes horses to fashion designeRs.. Oooo.
Haha actually this is all so structure-less.
But in an attempt to make the posts more comprehensive, here is what i have thus far decided to write about.

My fashion icons (in no order of any significance):
1) Victoria beckham
2) Kate Moss
3) Mary-Kate & Ashley
and i'm thinking, mayyybe Lindsay Lohan too cuz i love her look. Very silver screen goddess like if u ask me. Classic big features, love the red hair. etc etc.

And my favourite fashion designers.. Oh! There are too many, but i shall feature some of the less prominent ones, so we can (for now, at least) discount the industry bigwigs like marc jacobs, giorgio armani, donatella versace, ralph lauren, dolce & gabbana un so weiter.

1) Roland Mouret
2) Viktor & Rolf
3) Stella McCartney. (okay okay, so she is quite well-known even though not on par with Chanel and LV but i can't resist it i love her stuff :)

Firstly Roland Mouret. Frenchman who makes the most flattering creations for the female figure. Victoria to Sienna to Demi have donned his fetching garments. His work is very classic, timeless elegance.
Shan't say too much, shall let the pictures do the talking! ;)

famous famous Galaxy dress. i LUV it. Look how it hugs curves.

Another version of it. How wonderfully simple yet stunning. If i could afford it it'd be one of my wardrobe staples man. *wistful sigh*

This one has a lovely structure to it. I have a better picture of it pasted on my collage board at home but this is the best i could find online. Would wear this to my wedding man ;)

Saw a picture of Keira in this exact getup.

I like the colour contrast, and notice the tail of the sweater/cardigan thingy. Cute.

Happy Birthday Singapore! I love my country!

ha ha ha. Now lest u start thinking that i sound like some brainwashed product of the PAP/MOE's propaganda machine, i'll have u know that i have perfectly sound, rational reasons for being patriotic. Besides, i mean, do u really believe that the attempted indoctrination of patriotic values really work? From national education, to social studies, even to the compulsory Singapore Studies module at University level, do u reeeally think all that instills any deep sense of patriotism and rootedness in any half-intelligent creature?

Well, surely i know my Majulah Singapura (albeit not knowing what it means though, and mispronouncing certain words here and there hA- EveRyoNe does, believe me :P) and pledge by heart, but honestly it irritates me having to sing/recite them on such a frightfully regular basis for 12 bloody yrs more than it makes me ecstatic to be Singaporean.
[although i didn't mind learning the annual national day song- catchy what. And i mean, music lessons are so wonderfully lovely when compared with MATH and SCIENCE. :/]

Ah anyways i must admit when i was younger, i used to very much want to migrate.. To the States, to Aussie, to UK, anywhere that seemed cooler than this tiny heartland humble hometown..

But as i grew up i grew to love this place, i learnt to appreciate many things that i've taken for granted. Once u've travelled and learned more about SG & the world, u'll start to amaze at how remarkably resilient we are and how brilliant our nation is to have achieved so much in so little time. My only fear is that we have peaked in our progress but i put my faith in my fellow countrymen to bring us safely into the next era..

Honestly, for such a small nation, and in this part of the world, to be where we are today is nothing short of astounding extraordinariness. But then again, being small also contributes to the easier governance, and also why we make alot of top *whatever no.* lists. Take the most recent list in international lifestyle mag, Monocle, where we were ranked 17 in a list of the 20 most livable cities in the world, beating heavyweights like Paris, (PARIS!!), LA, HK, Hamburg, Milan, New York, etc etc. WOW.
This is the link: http://www.iht.com/articles/2007/06/18/arts/rmon17singapore.php
(i found the murder part fascinating. only 17 and ALL SOLVED. i mean, where else can u get that man. cheers to Safe S'pore hee. ;)

And u know, no matter what this will be the place where i grew up, my family and friends are here, and i LOVE local food; i mean, give me hokkien mee over foie gras anY daY man. ;) Also, i can't take the cold, so i am happy with the temperature here and i freeze and get nose bleeds (like in Deustchland last yr :X) at anywhere colder.. The only thing i regret is that i won't get to dress up for winter.. Trench coats are sooo fun! About the only layering we get to do here is tank top over tank top. hA.

Of course there's lots to lament about Singapore, things like lack of freedom of speech, horrible dress sense, herd mentality, kiasu-ism (which may not be thaT bad la. survival skills u know), lack of experimentalism, lack of etiquette, lack of opportunities, ELITISM, the worshiPPing of ang mohs (god how sick i am of that), etc etc.

But there are also so many good things that we all take for granted, and if u think about it and compare, we have it good man. Our std of living is better than that of ur average European, and our pple are nice. Really, i would deal with any suaku heartlander over the skinny bitches in Devil Wears Prada anytime man.

Oh and yes, i do love Singlish. Despite how much it is discouraged, i really do think it is uniquely Singaporean, and only if u are Singaporean would u be able to get the tone and the meaning right and perfectly understand the nuances of meaning. :)
But yes, the subject of Singlish is one that fascinates me and shall be touched on another time..

In the meanwhile i shall gaily sing in my not-singing-material-at-aLL voice:
*This is home, surely, where i know i must be...*
*WHere i belonggg, where i keep my, heart and soul, where we are one big family...*
Really catchy songs horh. Told u already. ;)

Heyhey i'm sure all of u already know about my 'obsession' with Ange Lapin; directly translated from French would be Angel Bunny/Rabbit. They are sooo cute! Too adorable to resist, really, despite the hefty price tag.! Nonetheless they are meant to be collectors items and not so much soft toys per se (so said the shopkeeper), and therein lies my consolation haha. :P

And for those of u dahlings who have yet to meet my lovely Ange Lapin, i've made things easier for ya to have a look at the collection- this is the webpage at the ange lapin section and TRANSLATED to our mother tongue, or mY mother tongue -english- at least. haha.
http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://www.trousselier.fr/2.aspx&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=4&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dange%2Blapin%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26rls%3Den
Oh god i can't seem to paste the link directly pls don't ask me why, i'm utterly HORRID at technology stuff. eeKs. uhm, just copy and paste the link? hee.

(Btw, one's mother tongue actually refers to the language one learnt to speak first, and the language which one is most comfortable using, etc etc u get my gist ja? The singaporean educational system just mis-uses the term so it can be rather confusing. tsk. I learnt that in Historical Variation of English EL2111 :)

And back to the awfully adoRable angel bunnies, so far the only place i know u can get them is at the Better Toy Store and they cost 45bucks for the big ones and 25bucks for the small ones (They only bring in 2 sizes and limited colours).. They're flown in from France :)

My babes just got these 2 for me today!
this big baby pinK one that i just had to have the moment i lay eyes on it- i mean, its BABY PINK! :P

and this small dark purple one i've been eyeing since forever and decided to just grab since there were only 2 left! [P.S its the darkest bunny u see and so it reminds me of my dark-tanned nicky.;]

Now i am eyeing the small green one, cuz the colour reminds exactly of green tea ice cream :) yUm.

And i love love love this turquoise/cyan one, what a divine colour right! Alas, they do not have it in SG but i'm hoping they will bring it in sometime! :)

OMG my cousin (nicole) pointed this article out today to me hahaha. This guy got fined for making lewd remarks to a dentist.

I quote,
"While the dentist was scaling his teeth, he started to make obscene noises, saying it was orgasmic."
"Lim subsequently used both his hands to caress his chest while moaning and groaning loudly. All this while, the dentist continued to ignore him"

The dentist is female btw, hahaha how traumatising, but actually if i were there i think i would've burst out laughing.. I mean, the dentist's is the LAST place anyone would think something like this would occur..
A massage parlour, yea okay at least understandable, but the dentisT's?! I would be hard pressed to find a similarity between the 2.. Vielleicht (maybe) the reclining chair?? haha tha's about the sexiest thing at the dentist's... Unless one gets turned on by cold metal tools and pain but hey- i'm not even going there man. :X

Oh if u wanna read the full article go to The Straits Times' HOME section today, pg.2 and laugh your ass off once more. ;)

I was in one of my whimsical moods, day-dreaming about fashion icons and their lovely clothes, and i was fantasizing over this very palatable idea: If i could have the wardrobes of celebrities, whose would i choose? (and of course, in that particular utopia i would be a size zero too;)

Anyways here goes, 1st girlie would be Victoria Beckham. I know, i know she has plenty of detractors, but this is not about her face (which i think is actually quite okay la, although admittedly the lady doth look scary sometimes ha.), nor her attitude, but pure unadulterated style and her gorgeous, gorgeous wardrobe.

In Giambattista Valli for TomKat's wedding. (i love the bow on this dress!)

At the MTV awards. Maybe it looks a li'l toxic barbie-like to some, but i think the pink bra kicks major ass! :P

Isn't the dress so darn cute yet chic at the same time? ;)

I so dig this style of outfit; smart unbuttoned white shirt with a tight wrap below the bust. Major. :)

Here we go again! This time in black. Fantabulous.!

Shopping in Beverly Hills. & i lovE the pretty bows on the back of the dress. yummy-looking dress doncha think? :D And look at those Louboutin pumps. TO-DIE-FOR! Absolutely man.

I especially love this last outfit; very classy-chic! Gorgeous colour scheme esp with the pink leather skirt. And it goes really well with the bob.
i love love LOVE her platinum-blonde bob!! :P

Its been almost 2 weeks since my maid went home and i've been doing HOUSEWORK. Yup u heard right- me slogging it out battling dark dusty icKy corners, doing the laundry (hanDwashing okay.!), washing the dishes, mopping, sweeping, scrUbbing, ironing... the list goes on. Man it takes alot to upkeep a house. I never knew. BUt hey, at 19 yrs old, its never too late to learn! *gags*grins*giggles*

And lest one takes me for one of those silly vapid things who cannot do anything useful to save her life, i would have u know that i've been dilligent in my duties okay! Furthermore, i'm the only one who isn't working or schooling i'm tasked with most of the work, but hey man, just wing it! Even the erstwhile hard-to-please mum has been happy with me and my chores :D

Haha my hands are rougher (isit psychological? but they do kinda feel rougher u know.. :P) from all that washing and exposure to mama lemon and floor cleaner. (i lOve my floor cleaner cuz its BIODEGRADABLE! so good for the environment.=)

And oh god its getting to me, just last weekend mum and me were at NTUC (pronounced: anne-tuck- geddit? geddit? ;) and we saw this scotch mop that aunt gloria had recommended, on offer, and we excitedly bought it and i tried it out the same day. Haha u guys should see me getting down and dirty wheeeeee. Priceless priceless moments i tell u ;)

Okay but u know, since it is still mE, here are some of the priceless moments in snippets:
*mopping the floor in my Ai Tong Pri School shorts [vintage, man!:Pp] and TA*DA- Kate Moss for Topshop nude/beige vest! (random comment:i love the pleats on that vest btw)
*Washing cups and little dishes in my LBD (LittleBlackDress) from Marciano -boughtoffebayhahaha- and my 3inch wedge-heels.
(random comment: i can only wear those highhh heels at home else i'll be the friggin Eiffel Tower dammit to hell and back. since i LOVE heels!)

And at the other end of the glam spectrum, here are more priceless moments:
*Me in baggy homeclothes jumping up & down & up & down & up & down manically on the poor assaulted mop, trying (quite successfully i must add;) to sQuish out the soap and water.
(random comment: i was sicK of wringing the mop for the hundredth time, so decided to jump on it)
*In rags with bedraggled hair falling all over my pale face as i scrub my lovely clothes not so lovingly like some washerwoman of old..
Hahaha abit dramatic hor. (god i LOVE singlish!;)

Anyways the bf is happy, since he thinks its good training for the future role as his missus. (hA. he takes alot for granted huh, but what's a girl to do when she's in love? ;) and sometimes i get msgs like: okay don't worry i'll wait, go iron more! Ha. he is sooo enjoying himself the impudent thing. But he's still mY impudent thing hee.
